Versamap is supplied with an enhanced version of Micro World Data Bank II which contains boundaries for the new countries that have formed from the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia, for Eritrea, for Canadian Provinces, and for Australian States. More detailed digital maps from the CIA's World Data Bank II and from the USGS Digital Line Graph database may be purchased from the author. Individual geographic features, such as coastlines, rivers, islands, and political boundaries, can be plotted from Micro World Data Bank II, World Data Bank II, and the USGS Digital Line Graphs. The program can also plot data supplied by the user in a simple ASCII file format. Text may be added to maps using any Windows font. Maps can be output directly to a printer, or exported as BMP, WMF, CGM, DXF, PIC, or ASCII files.
